Eddy left a career in engineering in the late 1980’s to study Sports Science and Management and to concentrate on his coaching skills. From there he became involved in the national development of first Team Gym, then later Acro and Tumbling.

Of his many achievements some particularly worthy of note are his involvement as Head Coach at the World Gymnaestrada hosted in Gothenburg in Sweden in 1999 and as Head Coach and the head of the British delegation at the European Championships in 2002. Within the last couple of years a member of his SAGC Tumbling Squad came 4th at the 2012 Tumbling World Championships.

If all this is not enough, Eddy has also gained awards in canoeing, cross training and is a Triathlon Gold Medallist!  Italian food, real ale, philosophy and music figure high on his list of hobbies.
