Lead Coach: Recreational Gymnastics (Maternity Cover)

Hours of Work: Full time (including evening and weekend)

Start Date: July 2022

What we are looking for: We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and experienced Gymnastics Coach to join our Team. We are looking for someone to be a lead coach within our Recreational programme as well as coaching within some off-site satellite classes. Additional hours may be available with Gymnastics Parties at weekends or during the holidays.
This person needs to be able to correspond with the team of coaches, office team, and work closely with the Director of Coaching, to lead a structured and well managed Recreational programme. The role will also include additional responsibilities during the office time.

The Role: The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Develop and maintain a progressive plan with the Recreational Programme
  • Line Management of coaches
  • Coaching within Recreational programme, and other areas.
  • Customer Service - Managing club queries
  • Management of Club Events
  • Organisation of Holiday Workshops
  • Supporting with club policies, procedures, and regular health and safety checks

 

The Person:

  • BG Gymnastics Coach Level 2 or above
  • DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid training
  • Full Driving License
  • 3+ years coaching experience
  • Excellent communicator with coaches, parents and children.
  • Energetic, motivated, very reliable, and able to work independently, have initiative, have a mature attitude and be a team player
  • Flexibility and strong interpersonal skills are essential
  • Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft office
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK

ADMIN / RECEPTIONIST

Hours of Work: Part time (1-6pm Monday - Friday or 1-6pm Mon-Thur, plus Saturdays)

Start Date: July 2022

ROLE PURPOSE: To provide comprehensive administration support to Southampton Gymnastics and to provide front of house services to members.


SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including word, excel and outlook, as well as Social Media channels
  • Able to prioritise and coordinate own work responding quickly to changes
  • Able to work well with others
  • Prepared to make a regular time commitment
  • Reliable and able to work independently
  • Have initiative
  • Good Administration skills
  • Time flexibility to be able to work within the clubs operational framework is essential

TASKS:

1. Undertake general reception duties including gymnast registration, answering questions from parents, distributing any relevant paperwork, collecting and recording money taken in.

2. Support with the trial gymnast process

3. Manage social media platforms and club website

4. Support office staff with day to day running of the club

5. Dealing with customer queries face to face, over the telephone and email. Working as part of the office team to ensure that a good level of service is provided to all the customers

Acrobatics Gymnastics Choreographer

Hours of Work: Part time / Full time depending on applicant 

Start Date: ASAP

What we are looking for: We are looking for a passionate Choreographer who is willing to work with our competitive Acrobatic squads, creating competition routines for partnerships to a National and International standard. You would ideally have knowledge of Acrobatic Gymnastics and its artistry requirements, the National Development Plan and what a good standard Acrobatic routine looks like or have a wide scope of dance and/or choreographic experience that would be adaptable to acrobatic gymnastics. Imagination, passion and a strong sense of creativity is advantageous. You could also be working with our Development Squads on their performance and dance skills in preparation for competitive routines. There may be the opportunity to also Coach gymnastics in other areas of the club as well as coach cover when needed.

Requirements:

• Ideally BG level 2+ Gymnastics Coach (General or Acrobatics) but not essential
• 2+ years Choreography experience
• DBS (we can help with your online application, this must be received before coaching role commences)
• Safeguarding training (will be required in the first month of contract)
• First Aid qualification (will be required in the first month of contract)
• Full Driving license
• Excellent communicator with coaches, parents and children.
• You will be energetic, motivated, very reliable, and able to work independently, have initiative, have a mature attitude and be a team player.
• Flexibility and strong interpersonal skills are essential
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK or be able to apply for the legal right
